History of Unity Baptist Church

February, 1981   

First meeting to ask God’s guidance in establishing new church.

March, 1981             

Rented a small five room house on Hwy 52 east of Allardt, Tennessee to begin fellowship.

July, 1981                 

Constituting of Church:  Unity chosen as name and Bro. Bob Stoner, a beginner in the ministry became pastor;

Unity joined the Riverside Baptist Association and 13 people became charter members.

May, 1983                

Unity received $15,000 loan from the Tennessee Baptist Convention for new church building.

June, 1983               

Groundbreaking for new church building.

November, 1983     

Dedication of new building.

October, 1989         

Groundbreaking for new educational building.

November, 1989     

Received $35,000 loan for educational building.

May, 1990                

Educational building complete.

December, 1998     

Paid off note on church building.

October, 1999          

Picnic shelter house dedication service.

Spring, 2002             

Received $125,000 loan for new educational wing and church renovation.

July, 2002                   

Dedicated new addition and began renovation of church sanctuary.

October, 2002          

Completion of sanctuary renovation, hosted Riverside Baptist Association’s Annual Meeting as first use of sanctuary.

September, 2003     

Unity called their first full-time pastor.

March, 2007               

Cleared land for 2 additional parking areas.

July, 2008                 

New Wheelchair ramps/drive-thru cover for front entrance

May, 2009                

Remodeled 2 bathrooms in Educational wing.

January, 2013          

Remodeled Front Foyer, front bathrooms and added wheelchair ramp and porch for Fellowship hall entrance.

October, 2013          

Built outdoor storage building to store tables and outdoor equipment

April, 2018

Celebrated Note Shredding. Church is debt free!
